I was on my way to work, listening to the radio (FlyFM) and one of the topic for this morning was "In your life, what thing did you do that was a risk worth taking?". As I listened to the callers stories, it brought back memories of something I did just last year, around the same time as this year which I think was worth the risk.

Ready? I went for an interview/audition to be a DJ on FlyFM! Surprised? I surprised myself too for making such a bold move. I have never/ very rare have the guts to make such decision. Most of the time it will be all talk and no action. It was nearing my wedding dinner and I have all the excuse for being very busy, needing to spend time with my family and also preparing for the wedding. However, I made my stand and just went for it.

Obviously, I did not get the job..haha. I did not even reach the top 5 (if not mistaken they chose about 4 - 5 to test them further). Many people turned up for this (young and old). I will be lying if I told you that for not one moment, I never thought of just leaving the place before my number was called. But I knew at that moment, if I were to chicken out from it, I would be left wondering for life on the "What if...?"

It was not surprising that I was a nervous wreck during the audition. Jules and Phat Fabes was there with the other FlyFM crew members. It was actually a very comfortable audition, but well, my nerves got the better of me. Phat Fabes was trying to get me to smile when reading the script given as I smiled a lot when I was just "chatting" with them before the script reading was done. How to smile when you are soooo nervous?? Hahaha.

Anyway, I think this experience is one that I will always remember and it was worth all the risk.

30th March 2010 marks our one year marriage anniversary and 8 years anniversary of being a couple. Truth is when I was younger; I never thought I could be with someone for that long…hahaha.

I recall the first time I saw AK. He was performing on stage, singing a Chinese song he wrote. The name of the song was “Kuai Le”. I enjoyed some of the songs performed by various students that day and one of it that got my attention was his. I bought the CD that the organization sold and actually wrote down the lyrics of AK’s song : ). I did not buy the CD just because of him of course but the more I listened to his song, the more I loved his voice. From then on I seemed to notice him more when we were in the same lecture hall. I started liking how he talked, how he laughed, how when I thought he saw me and how cute he was….hehe.

Well, lucky for me, one of my housemates knows him from a tuition class when they were in high school…and one of his housemate was in my English class. To set the record straight, I was the one who made the first move by sms-ing him :P. Anyway, to cut the story short, we went on our first date to Batu Feringghi, Penang. ..and the rest was history.

Like any other couple, we had our ups and downs. We have been through some hard times together. It did not help when the both of us had bad tempers. You can just imagine the loud arguments we had. ..so immature. I can safely say this now..we are all over that craziness although there are still the occasional arguments. All I know now is I have never been in love with my hubby so much as I am in love with him now.

Thank you dear for 8 wonderful years. Thank you for being patient with me. Thank you for learning to understand this complicated soul of mine. Thank you for loving me.

I was back in my hometown last week and my mum has cleared out my old stuff from the store room. She put all my stuff in two baskets for me to look through if I wanted to keep them or not. Ohhh...and I had fun just looking through my old stuff (including my old diary...haha..it was hilarious)

Well, I actually found all my old letters from my schoolmates (I shifted to another state when I was in Standard 6). I had fun reading those letters. Many were just very short letters. I never realised we really went all out just to send one letter. Just a few sentences on a decorated paper (some perfumed), we had to go through all the trouble of folding the letter, put it in an envelope, decorate the envelope, write the address and not forgetting to Thank the "Mr. Postman", seal the envelope, stick a stamp on it and get our parents to send the letter for us. And it will take 2-3 days for the letter to arrive to your friend.

Compare this to our current situation...oh my, oh my...I think we would be crazy to do such thing now. But it was fun as long as it lasted :)
