Have you ever experienced a BLANK moment? I am actually in a situation where these questions occasionally pop out:-

“What have I done today? What have I done for the past week? What have I done for the past month?”…and the ultimate…

“What is life?”

Everything for me now is a bit of a blur. At times I cannot even recall what happened or what I ate yesterday. Everything seems too much like a timetable to me or a little too fake. Hmmm…am thinking of how to spice my life up now.

Spice up? I think you need to tone down.....do you know that tiredness affects cognition?

Anyway you're probably so busy most of the time that you are on autopilot on most of your tasks and hence ur not paying attention anymore...hence not remembering. Nick and I feel like that most of the time after Luc and Matt were born...the constant exhaustion and distraction does that to you.

Well, you could try slowing down ur life instead by using techniques such as Mindfulness.

I have been trying it now and then but I think I have to try harder. Mindful eating is apparently the healthiest way to eat.

Disclaimer: have not done a research review on this so note the tentativeness of my comments...

    Sis,

First, I need to do this...HAHAHAHA. I think you are right la. Instead of spicing things up, I should mellow things down a little.

I just realise now that all my activities involves some other concurrent activities or even involves another person. This makes me have lesser time for myself to enjoy the activity in "mindfulness". I never really have a personal moment with myself or with that certain activity for the past..I cannot even recall how long ago. I thought by being surrounded by people, I will enjoy my time better..but now I realise it is not necessary true.

Thanks my dear sis for reminding me of this. It has not been going well on my mood either :(

I sometimes do that too and at times ended up with, "Who is this person talking? Am I just a soul using this body as a puppet?" or something along the line lah hehe.

But I usually don't dwell long in it.

Yah, slow down. Have time for yourself. It is important.

Ya ya..sometimes it happens to me too...but more so when I was in secondary school..haha. Now is quite different..seems quite fed up at times

  6. wanna slow down and check out on mindfulness... hmm.... i'll see if i got books/CD on this topic... ;D

wanna spice up... make a bb... ;D

  7. Elyssa Says:

make bb to spice up? I think at this moment, a bb will make things much worst...haha

So, slowing down should be the way. I am now trying to relax myself more often and try not to think too much whenever I have a free time (eg: whil stuck in a jam, just stay calm and just listen to the radio. And don't get too stressed up if the jam takes longer)

  8. Jaded Jeremy Says:

Try the meditating. Literally focus on your breathing while closing your eyes and sitting cross-legged and upright. Do some yoga stretches. Even half an hour should do you some good.

Whenever I am in a traffic jam or even just driving to & fro work (40 to 60 mins), I either say prayers for loved ones, or listen to song lyrics. Yoga and meditation are supposed to be helpful too. Having "ME" time is important and healthy. I cherish moments when my hubby is away. Then I get to really lepak. Hey, I thought AK takes trips to India a lot. Can't you take time then to smell the coffee? SR

  10. Elyssa Says:

I like my alone time too when AK is not in for a short while. But I would prefer him around when I am stressed with work or I need to take care of DJ. Because with him around, we take turns in taking care of DJ..or when I am feeling down, AK will just let me rest as much as I want. And weekend, sometimes we will have friends who want to spend time with us...so I cannot seem to have my "ME" time

Well, Nick and I have to schedule in our ME time these days. Treat yourself as you would treat a friend my dear..

If you don't nurture yourself then you'll just end up old and bitter...

    Sis,

I guess you are right. Sometimes we tend to treat others better than we treat ourselves. And sometimes I do find myself a bitter "old lady"..now..hahaha

Wow...I think I need to visit this again. "Mindful eating"?? I have not been doing that especially when my baby is around..just eat to make my tummy feel full and forget what I eat the next day :(
