Wet Kitchen (left) : Sink area
Wet Kitchen (right): cooking area

These were the first of the many works being done at our house. Views are for the wet kitchen where we chose to have a concrete top (rather than solid surface or granite or others) because it is more economical. It is of course not as glamorous as solid surface but it is more durable and can withstand the impact of chopping a HUGE chicken/duck (as an example..hehe). Granite would be too expensive.
Currently we are waiting for other works to get done by this same contractor (re-wiring, grill, additional power points, plaster ceiling, etc). Works are very slow because of few reasons (total time given by the management to the contractor is quite limited: less than 5 hrs a day, contractor is currently doing a few job simultaneously: a positive way to look at it is that he is good at his work with reasonable prices that too many people wants him..haha)
Well, mati-mati also I would need the house to be "stay-able" by the end of this month. Wish me luck!!

Sigh...I certainly do hope so. It would be a little rushing but I think we can make it...IF eveything goes smoothly la. Thank goodness my renovation is just minor (most of it should be finished by end of this week).

Ti's the day for me to catch up. Sorry for all these delayed comments. I am having a ball reading blogs :) Thanks for sharing! I'm with you, once I have my mind set, I mati2 want it. Anyway, the squeaky wheel gets heard. Contractors will try to get the loud mouth out of the way faster, if they can :) (slr)

    Slr,

hehe...no worries. Not too late since I just started blogging a few months ago only. Pheww..thank goodness all ready :). Went through so much. AK had to look over their shoulders every other house for two weeks!!. Their quality of work not bad but I'll give them a 2/5 for speed

When we decided to remodel, our so-called 4-week project dragged on for 8 months! In the midst, the company we contracted with went bankrupt. Good thing I was on top of them daily, so our house got a lot more done than most. It was pure nightmare. You & AK must feel a huge sense of relief & pride now that your home is all ready. slr
